Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter, DeDe Wedekind, is a voting member of the Recording Academy who lives in Houston, Texas. She was recently named the Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year, by the International Music and Entertainment Association (IMEA) in June 2018. In just 7 years as a full-time professional songwriter, DeDe has garnered 3 IMEA Albums of the Year, including for her lastest album, “Dream of You”. She’s also been awarded many Indie Song of the Year Awards by the IMC and IMEA and other organizations since 2012.
DeDe won a Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) in Nov. 2017 for her inspiring song, "The Plans I Have for You". In February 2018, DeDe was a Silver Medalist in the Global Music Awards. DeDe was also named the 2016 Best New Artist of the Year by the Indie Music Channel (IMC) in Los Angeles.
During her time as a professional singer/songwriter, DeDe has performed and been a featured interviewee on many TV and Radio Shows including: KATV ABC TV's Good Morning Arkansas, CBS WREG TV Memphis' Live at 9, WEHT Tri-State ABC TV in Hendersonville KY, Atlanta TV, Cornerstone TV in Pittsburgh, WOS Radio in Nashville, the Phil Valentine Talk Radio Show, and the Doug Stephan Good Morning Show. In 2016, DeDe was honored to be the IMC Best New Female Artist of the Year.
Passionate about helping teens and families affected by opioid use and alcoholism, DeDe and Larry Wedekind started a Faith-based nonprofit in 2017. MatthewsHope.org along with an original TV Series, "At The Crossroads" is helping victims and their families deal with this growing epidemic.
